It is appropriate that Bessie should take pride of place in this, our 101st and final post of the blog – for the time being anyway! It has been a fantastic journey and we’d like to thank all our loyal followers for their support and comments. Although we have been far from home for the last nine weeks, it has been great to share our experiences with friends and family via this blog.
As luck would have it, today has been the hottest of the year and we had to spend it travelling! Never mind – there’s always the next time so do check back again to see if a new adventure has begun for us.
Just two more photos to share – the handsome silver centaur sculpture we passed at Uttoxeter – the home of horse racing, and another first for us – one of several Red Kites that we spotted roaming the skies above the M40.
We ended the day with an impromptu meal with Sally, Sean, Harry and Guy – an unexpected treat and a great welcome home. We’re looking forward to seeing the rest of our family – Robert, Becca, Alexandra, Matt, and all our other grandchildren, Izzy, Milo, Oskar, Charlie, Lucy, Sammy and Zac.
Now it’s time for Bessie to take a well-earned rest and us to pick up our normal lives again – until the next adventure!
Very well done and have enjoyed the journey with you and, of course, seeing you!

Just caught up on your epic adventure – how will you ever be able to settle to ‘ordinary’ living again (or is it now a case of ahhh Home Sweet Home)? Have enjoyed every minute of your travels with you and have been further educated along the way! What an Adventure and with Bessie in the starring role! Pam B X
