,,,we’ll have a photo of a Ringed Plover instead!

Well, it certainly rained last night – just as forecast.  Not only that but it was accompanied by fierce winds and we and Bessie spent a rocky and noisy eight hours or so.  It rained most of the morning as well, easing off about midday.

There didn’t seem to be any point in driving anywhere so we decided to spend a lazy day, Peter reading and me doing a couple of water-colours of sunnier times here at Eoligarry.  I am getting used to the different style and am trying to emulate my favourite modern Scottish water-colourist, Mairi Hedderwick, whose books on the Hebrides and those for children are beautifully illustrated.

Both of these pictures are based on the beach right in front of us – not that we can actually see it today!

More rain this evening but hopefully tomorrow will be dry as we’re planning to spend the day at Castlebay.
