Another beautiful day and, as planned, we went back to Clashnessie today. It’s such a special place and I wanted to see if I could create a watercolour that would do it justice. We carried the chairs and painting paraphernalia down to the beach and found a great spot near the rocks. Our chairs have built-in trays so it made it easier.
Peter went off with the camera, climbed rocks and took some excellent photos.
It would have been easy to stay there for the rest of the day but we wanted to re-visit Inverkirkaig so off we drove past the loch at Stoer sparkling with reeds and waterlilies…
… and the racing river at Lochinver
At Inverkirkaig the Curlews were still in evidence…
… and even the common Mallards looked interesting in the sparkling water.
Oystercatchers skimmed the water…
Back at the campsite, another beautiful sunset…
Super colours again and another lovely watercolour. It looks quite busy on the campsite, is it?

What an idyllic place and your painting certainly does it justice.
