Today was all about exploring the side roads of South Uist – mainly on the Eastern hills and lochs side of the island.
The sun was out and it was probably the warmest of days so far on this holiday. More importantly, there was only a light breeze.
These photos are mostly of the area around Lochs Boisdale and Eynort. I have called today crofts and boats because that is what most photos are of but, of course, there are also photos of birds and animals too, not forgetting flowers.

One of a few such old thatched crofts which have been refurbished often for holiday use

In the shade…
In the evening we had booked a meal at the Polochar Inn down on the coast where two years ago we saw and photographed an otter. This time no luck but the meal was as good as ever.
The sunset in this photo and the header photo was taken here at about 10pm.
Wonderful photos of the sunset again, and I like the disapproving look that one of the swans is giving to one of its children!

A lovely mixture of subject matter in today’s photographs. Sunsets are my favourites.

That little croft without much of a roof looks like a perfect project for dad!
